Welcome cyber pilgrim. For a moment, rest your clicking.
Above is the Binnenmaas lake as seen from our yard. This former branch of the Rhine/Meuse delta was closed by dam many centuries ago, giving its name to our home village Maasdam. The lake serves as a reservoir from which excess water is pumped out to the sea. We live just slightly below sea level.
Maasdam lies some 20 kilometers south-east of Rotterdam. It can be reached through highway A29 (Exit 's-Gravendeel), then take the N217 until you have arrived. For train passengers, alight at the Dordrecht railway station and give us a call (078-677 2023). Or wait for the bus. The train from Amsterdam airport takes 60 minutes, from Brussels a little longer.
